HMF Official Launch Event

Harit Molecules Foundation (HMF) was officially launched on 21st November 2025 at The Oberoi, New Delhi, in the presence of Shri Abhay Bakre, Mission Director, National Green Hydrogen Mission, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE); Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Director (Solar), Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited; and leading industry stakeholders.

In his keynote address, Shri Abhay Bakre emphasized the National Green Hydrogen Mission as a strategic step to strengthen energy security, reduce imports, and unlock economic opportunities. He highlighted the need for early deployment to achieve cost parity by 2035 and stressed green hydrogen’s role in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors beyond electricity. Large anchor projects, robust supply chains, and consumer confidence will drive scale and cost reduction. He announced plans for a National Hydrogen Survey, updated biennially, and urged collaboration and data sharing to accelerate the ecosystem.

Some of the industry leaders like Mr Vikram Kapur, Group President, ReNew stressed and believes that HMF will be a platform which will build a truly diverse, democratic foundation that puts the nation’s interest above individual agendas and also positions India not just as a participant, but as a global rule-setter in the green hydrogen industry.

The launch of HMF marks the beginning of a transparent, democratic and collaborative effort to turn India’s Green Hydrogen ambition into action and accelerate the nation’s journey toward a sustainable, net-zero future.
